Lucy Dacus is an American singer-songwriter from Richmond, Virginia, also known as a member of the trio boygenius with Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker. This single, announced under the working title 'New Song' and ultimately released as 'Planting Tomatoes', is standalone work following her 2025 studio album Forever Is a Feeling. The song is understated indie with a soft, lightly electronic touch; its lyrics deal with presence, gratitude and loss. Alongside the studio version, the release includes a more intimate voice-memo recording of the same song. This edition is a 7-inch single on black vinyl.
