Two Bruno Mars albums sit side by side here. Doo-Wops & Hooligans, originally released in 2010 via Elektra and Atlantic, was his debut and produced Just the Way You Are, Grenade and The Lazy Song. Unorthodox Jukebox followed two years later and sounded rougher and funkier, with Locked Out of Heaven, Treasure and the piano ballad When I Was Your Man. Together they show how quickly Mars moved from radio-friendly pop songs towards disco, reggae and eighties soul.
