Smoky Mountain DNA: Family, Faith and Fables is a Dolly Parton family project, originally released in 2024, with 37 songs and almost two hours of music. Parton traces her musical lineage on it, from British ancestors in the seventeenth century to the hills of East Tennessee where she grew up. Dozens of relatives sing alongside her, from immediate family to distant cousins, and recordings of family members who have since died are woven in. It accompanies a four-part documentary series about the same family tree and entered the Billboard Bluegrass Albums chart at number one.
