Elton John originally recorded Caribou in just a few days in 1974, squeezed in between tours and produced by Gus Dudgeon. Despite the haste, the album yielded two classics: the raucous 'The Bitch Is Back' and the orchestral ballad 'Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me', with backing vocals from members of The Beach Boys among others. The title refers to the Caribou Ranch in Colorado, where it was recorded.
This 50th Anniversary edition is a 2-LP on Sky Blue vinyl with a second disc of bonus material, pressed for Record Store Day 2024.
