Artpop originally came out in 2013 as Lady Gaga's third studio album, built as a crossover between pop music and visual art. Jeff Koons created the cover image, and the music moves from EDM into techno and R&B. She worked with DJ White Shadow, Zedd, and Madeon, among others. Applause was the lead single, alongside Do What U Want, G.U.Y., and Venus. Artpop entered the US Billboard 200 at number one.
