Car Button Cloth was the seventh Lemonheads album and originally came out in 1996, produced by Bryce Goggin. Evan Dando handled most of the guitars and the vocals, with Patrick Murphy on drums and session musicians filling in the rest, and the songs deal openly with the messy period in which they were written. If I Could Talk I'd Tell You became the best known single; The Outdoor Type was written by Tom Morgan of the Australian band Smudge. It was the last album the band made for Atlantic, after which things went quiet around Dando for years.

This edition is an LP on white vinyl, the 30th anniversary edition on Fire Records.
