After leaving Supertramp, Roger Hodgson recorded his first solo album in 1983 and 1984 in Nevada City, California. It sits close to the side of Supertramp he represented there: melodic pop with piano and acoustic guitar to the fore and his high, light voice above it. Had a Dream (Sleeping with the Enemy) became the single and reached number 48 on the American Hot 100. Hooked on a Problem and Only Because of You had already been written and recorded for the Supertramp album ...Famous Last Words..., but were left unused at the time. In Canada the album went platinum within a month of its appearance; it originally came out in October 1984 via A&M Records.
