Grease is the original soundtrack to the 1978 film of the same name, starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. The album includes You're the One That I Want and Summer Nights, both duets by Travolta and Newton-John, alongside Hopelessly Devoted to You and the title track, written by Barry Gibb and sung by Frankie Valli. The music blends rock 'n' roll and doo-wop in the style of the late 1950s, the era in which the film is set, with contemporary pop from the late 1970s. The soundtrack topped the US album chart in 1978 and became one of the best-selling soundtracks of all time.
