Octavarium is Dream Theater's eighth studio album, originally released in 2005. The record's concept revolves around the number eight and the octave: its eight songs play with keys and recurring motifs, from the direct 'Panic Attack' to the twenty-four-minute title piece that closes the album. 'The Root of All Evil' continues Portnoy's addiction suite, while 'I Walk Beside You' is one of their most accessible songs. The classic line-up of LaBrie, Petrucci, Myung, Rudess and Portnoy recorded it at the Hit Factory in New York.
