Train of Thought is Dream Theater's seventh studio album, originally released in 2003. The band wrote most of it on the road while touring, which translates into one of their heaviest, most metal-oriented records. Songs such as 'As I Am' and 'This Dying Soul' put muscular riffs up front, while the instrumental 'Stream of Consciousness' and the closing 'In the Name of God' make room for extended solos from Petrucci and Rudess. LaBrie, Myung and Portnoy complete the line-up.
