Piece of Mind is the fourth studio album by Iron Maiden, originally released in 1983 and produced by Martin Birch. It was the first album with drummer Nicko McBrain, who replaced Clive Burr and would stay behind the kit until 2024. With The Trooper, inspired by the Charge of the Light Brigade, and Flight of Icarus it produced two live staples. The longer Where Eagles Dare and the intricate To Tame a Land, based on Frank Herbert's Dune, show the more narrative, progressive side the band developed in this period.
