Somewhere Back in Time: The Best of 1980-1989 collects material from Iron Maiden's first decade and appeared in 2008 to accompany the world tour of the same name. The selection draws on the early studio albums but turns to the 1985 live album Live After Death for several tracks, so that almost everything features singer Bruce Dickinson. Thus 'The Trooper', '2 Minutes to Midnight', 'The Number of the Beast', 'Run to the Hills' and 'Hallowed Be Thy Name' sit alongside live versions of 'Aces High' and 'Phantom of the Opera'. Derek Riggs's cover brings together the Pharaoh Eddie from Powerslave and the Cyborg Eddie from Somewhere in Time.
