Motörhead is the band’s self-titled debut, originally released in 1977 on Chiswick Records. Lemmy Kilmister had formed the group after leaving Hawkwind, and that lineage is still audible on this first record: alongside originals like ‘White Line Fever’ and ‘Keep Us on the Road’ there are Hawkwind covers (‘Lost Johnny’, ‘The Watcher’) and a version of ‘Train Kept A-Rollin’’. The title track, first written during Lemmy’s time in Hawkwind, immediately became the band’s calling card. It captures the raw, unpolished foundation everything afterwards would build on.

This edition is an LP on white vinyl, a facsimile of the original Chiswick pressing for the 40th anniversary.
