Begin Again gathered seven songs that Norah Jones first put out as separate singles in 2018 and 2019 rather than saving them for an album. She recorded them with changing partners, among them Jeff Tweedy of Wilco and Thomas Bartlett, and it shows: from the organ-heavy It Was You to the loose, half improvised Wintertime. The collection originally came out in 2019 and led into the studio album Pick Me Up Off the Floor.
