United was the debut album of Phoenix and was originally released in 2000. The French band from Versailles, led by singer Thomas Mars, was part of the same music scene as Air and Daft Punk. The album combined pop, soft rock, funk and disco with a refined production. If I Ever Feel Better and Too Young were singles from the album. Too Young later became well known through its use in the 2003 film Lost in Translation. United laid the foundation for Phoenix's international career, which eventually led to the album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix.
