In 1977, a young Cramps line-up recorded at Ardent Studios in Memphis, with Big Star's Alex Chilton at the controls. Gravest Gravy collects twelve of those recordings, including previously unreleased material, early versions of later well-known songs and covers, in mixes by Lux Interior and Poison Ivy. It captures the phase in which the band was inventing its blend of rockabilly, garage and horror-movie aesthetics, raw and unvarnished. The compilation was released on 21 August 2026 via Vengeance Records.
