Waiting for the Sun was originally released in 1968 as the third studio album by The Doors and became their first album to reach number one in the United States. The single Hello, I Love You also became an American number 1 hit. The album further featured tracks such as The Unknown Soldier and Five to One. Not to Touch the Earth was the only developed part of Jim Morrison's longer suite Celebration of the Lizard. Spanish Caravan showed the influence of flamenco on Robby Krieger's guitar playing. The album was produced by Paul A. Rothchild.
