Free as a Bird is the ninth studio album by British band Supertramp, released in October 1987. The record marked a change of direction, using synthesizers, drum machines and dance beats instead of their earlier progressive rock sound. It is the first album to feature contributions from guitarist and vocalist Mark Hart, who would later become a full member of the band. The club hit I'm Beggin You and the title track come from this record. It was also the last Supertramp album before a lengthy hiatus for the band.
