Body And Soul / Walk Away brings together two 12-inch releases that the British band The Sisters Of Mercy originally issued in 1984. The Leeds group, formed around singer Andrew Eldritch and drum machine Doktor Avalanche, grew into a figurehead of gothic rock during this period. 'Walk Away' anticipated the 1985 debut album First And Last And Always; 'Body And Soul' appeared a few months earlier as a standalone single. The collection also includes 'Body Electric', 'Train', 'Afterhours' and 'Poison Door'. Characteristic are Eldritch's deep baritone, the mechanical drums and the dark, reverberating guitar sound.
