Moving Target was the last studio album Gil Scott-Heron made for the label Arista and was first released in 1982. Scott-Heron was known as a poet and musician, among other things for The Revolution Will Not Be Televised. The album combined socially critical lyrics with jazz, funk, blues and reggae. Fast Lane and Washington D.C. were songs on the album. It was not until 2010 that Scott-Heron released another studio album, I'm New Here.
