The Black Keys

The Black Keys are Dan Auerbach (vocals, guitar) and Patrick Carney (drums), childhood friends from Akron, Ohio, who started out as a two-piece in 2001. They recorded their first albums in Carney's basement: raw, lo-fi blues rock in the tradition of Junior Kimbrough and R.L. Burnside. With Brothers (2010) and El Camino (2011), both partly produced by Danger Mouse, they grew into an arena act with songs like 'Tighten Up' and 'Lonely Boy' and several Grammy Awards. Later albums alternate their own writing with tributes to the blues, from the covers album Delta Kream to Peaches! in 2026.
