Hatful of Hollow gathers the radio sessions The Smiths recorded for John Peel and David Jensen at the BBC in 1983 and 1984, alongside singles and B-sides such as This Charming Man, Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now and How Soon Is Now?. The session versions sound rawer and faster than the studio takes on the debut album, which gives this collection a place of its own in the band's work. It originally appeared in November 1984 on Rough Trade, barely nine months after the debut, and reached number 7 in the United Kingdom. This edition is an LP.
