The album debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 and was later certified platinum. Well-known singles include Miss Murder, Love Like Winter and The Missing Frame. Miss Murder became the band's biggest hit and won an MTV Video Music Award for Best Rock Song. The record blends post-punk and gothic rock with the melodic hardcore the band became known for.
