Wages of Sin, originally from 2001, is the album on which German vocalist Angela Gossow took over from Johan Liiva. It was recorded at Studio Fredman again, at a higher tempo and with a harder production than Burning Bridges. "Ravenous", "Enemy Within" and "Savage Messiah" stayed in the live set for years afterwards. The twin leads of Michael and Christopher Amott remained the trademark, now under a growl that made the band known outside Sweden.
