War Eternal was the first Arch Enemy album with Alissa White-Gluz, who took Angela Gossow's place in 2014. Guitarist Nick Cordle had already succeeded Christopher Amott by then. The album runs to thirteen tracks, two of them instrumental: "Tempore Nihil Sanat" opens and "Not Long for This World" closes. Besides the title track, "You Will Know My Name" and "As the Pages Burn" were given videos.

This reissue is an LP on magenta vinyl.
