On her third studio album, Ayra Starr pulls the Afrobeats foundation she broke through with in every direction. Starr Girl came out on 14 August 2026 via Mavin Records and runs to sixteen tracks, with Wizkid on ‘Gimme Dat’, Rema on ‘Who’s Dat Girl’, Leon Thomas on ‘Pressure’ and Zayn on the closing ‘Heaven Baby’. Alongside intimate R&B and Afropop there are outright dance records, while quieter moments such as ‘Misunderstood’ and ‘Letter To God’ find the Nigerian singer addressing being underestimated, faith and the future. Clash scored the album 8/10 and called it “a fuller picture of an artist still growing, still curious and increasingly certain of who she wants to be”. This edition is an LP.
