Why the Long Face is the seventh studio album by Scottish rock band Big Country, released in June 1995. On this album too, the band fronted by singer and guitarist Stuart Adamson combined guitar rock with influences from Scottish folk. The album was produced by Chris Sheldon together with the band members. 'You Dreamer' and 'I'm Not Ashamed' were released as singles and both reached the UK chart; the songs became fixtures in the live set. In the period around the album, Big Country appeared as a support act for The Rolling Stones, among others.
