The God Machine is the twelfth studio album by German power metal band Blind Guardian, released on September 2, 2022 through Nuclear Blast. It was the band's first regular studio album in seven years, following Beyond the Red Mirror from 2015. The album was recorded by the band's longtime lineup of vocalist and bassist Hansi Kürsch, guitarists André Olbrich and Marcus Siepen, and drummer Frederik Ehmke. The cover artwork was created by American artist Peter Mohrbacher, known for his Angelarium project. Compared to the band's earlier, more conceptual albums, this release favored shorter and more direct songs, including Deliver Us From Evil, Damnation and Destiny. The track Secrets of the American Gods was inspired by Neil Gaiman's novel American Gods.
