Incarnations is assembled from the sessions Charles Mingus recorded for Candid in October and November 1960, with Eric Dolphy in the band. Nat Hentoff's label gave him a free hand there, and three albums had already come out of those recordings. This fourth one includes a second version of Reincarnation of a Love Bird and a previously unreleased All the Things You Are. The album appeared in November 2023, remastered by Bernie Grundman and carrying a text by Hank Shteamer.
