Reincarnations gathers rare recordings from the sessions Charles Mingus made for Candid in 1960, Nat Hentoff's label where he was given a free hand. Part of this material had been unavailable on vinyl for decades. It includes an early version of Reincarnation of a Lovebird, a drawn-out Body and Soul of almost fourteen minutes, Vassarlean and Melody From the Drums. The album appeared in 2024 as a follow-up to Incarnations, remastered by Bernie Grundman.
