On the Beach is the eighth studio album by British singer-songwriter Chris Rea, released in April 1986. The record shows his brighter, more optimistic side with a mix of soft rock and pop. The title track On the Beach became one of Rea's best-known songs. The album reached number one in the Dutch charts, where it stayed for more than nine months. It is regarded as one of the commercial high points of Rea's career.
