De blauwe schuit, originally from 1994, is De Dijk's eighth studio album and delivered Als ze er niet is, the biggest hit the band had had up to that point. Antonie Broek and John Sonneveld produced most of it; recording ran from March to July 1994 at Studio 150 in Amsterdam, with mixing at Wisseloord Studios. Amsterdam is the Dutch version of the Jacques Brel chanson, translated by Ernst van Altena. Laaiend vuur, Vroeger laat, and the closing De schuyt round out the album. This edition is an LP on transparent blue vinyl, a numbered Record Store Day release.
