Lost Not Forgotten Archives: The Making of Scenes From a Memory – The Sessions (1999) gathers writing and recording sessions around Metropolis, Pt. 2: Scenes From a Memory, the concept album Dream Theater released in 1999. The material – originally issued in 2003 on Ytsejam Records – consists of alternate takes, rehearsals and early versions, arranged in the order the songs were written. You can hear pieces such as 'The Dance of Eternity' and 'The Spirit Carries On' grow from basic tracks into the shape the final album took. It is a behind-the-scenes look at one of the best-known records from the line-up with LaBrie, Petrucci, Myung, Portnoy and the then newly joined keyboardist Jordan Rudess.
