I Am is Earth, Wind & Fire's ninth studio album, tying tight funk to disco and polished soul ballads, carried by horns, strings and the layered vocals of Philip Bailey and Maurice White. Its best-known songs are 'Boogie Wonderland', recorded with vocal group The Emotions, and the ballad 'After the Love Has Gone'. Originally released in 1979 on ARC/Columbia Records. Two songs won a Grammy: 'After the Love Has Gone' for Best R&B Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group and 'Boogie Wonderland' for Best R&B Instrumental Performance.
