The second Foo Fighters studio album, originally released in 1997, is where the group grew from a solo project into an actual band. Producer Gil Norton pushed the sessions at Bear Creek Studio so hard that drummer William Goldsmith walked away and Dave Grohl re-recorded most of his parts himself. Taylor Hawkins joined shortly afterwards. Monkey Wrench, My Hero and Everlong come from here, with quieter material such as Walking After You in between.
