There Is Nothing Left to Lose took shape in Dave Grohl's basement studio in Alexandria, Virginia, after Foo Fighters left Los Angeles behind and carried on as a trio. The third studio album is the first with Taylor Hawkins on drums and sounds looser and more melodic than its two predecessors, with Learn to Fly, Breakout, Generator and Next Year. Originally released in 1999, it won a Grammy for Best Rock Album.
