Sheik Yerbouti was the first release on Zappa's own label Zappa Records, assembled from live recordings made on the 1977 and 1978 tours and worked on further in the studio. Adrian Belew, Terry Bozzio and Patrick O'Hearn form the core of the band. 'Dancin' Fool' earned a Grammy nomination, 'Bobby Brown Goes Down' became a hit in Germany and Scandinavia, and 'Jewish Princess' drew a complaint from the Anti-Defamation League, after which Zappa refused to apologise. The double album also contains 'Yo' Mama', a long guitar piece edited together from several solos. It originally appeared in March 1979. This edition is a 2-LP.
