For Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, the second film in the series, Hans Zimmer composed and arranged the entire score. The soundtrack was originally released in 2006 on Walt Disney Records. The music is built around themes for the characters, with cues such as 'Jack Sparrow', 'Davy Jones', 'Tia Dalma' and 'The Kraken'. Some passages carry a raw, distorted tone. Zimmer told SoundtrackNet that no electric guitar was involved: 'It's the orchestra put through a guitar amp and piped back into the room.' The album closes with 'He's a Pirate (Tiësto Remix)', a dance reworking of the familiar pirate theme.

This edition is a 2LP on translucent green vinyl.
