Collision Course was originally released in 2004 as a mashup EP by Jay-Z and Linkin Park, created within MTV's Ultimate Mash-Ups project. The EP contained six tracks in which the vocals and instrumentation from both catalogues were combined, produced by Mike Shinoda. Numb/Encore won a 2006 Grammy Award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration and was performed live at the ceremony together with Paul McCartney. Other tracks were Dirt off Your Shoulder/Lying from You and Jigga What/Faint. Collision Course reached number one on the Billboard 200, the first EP in that position since Jar of Flies in 1994.
