Hit Parade Volume One gathers the singles from the first stretch of the Madness career, from The Prince in 1979 to (Waiting For) The Ghost Train in 1986. That covers almost the entire run that kept the band in the UK charts: One Step Beyond, Baggy Trousers, Embarrassment, Grey Day, It Must Be Love, House of Fun, Our House, Wings of a Dove and Michael Caine. Several tracks appear in their single edit rather than the album version. Across seven years you hear the band move from hurtling ska into broader, more melancholy pop. The collection came out in November 2025 on West Village Music, alongside a volume covering 1992 to 2024 and a complete 4-LP box.
