After the more accessible Holidays in Eden, Marillion went back to one continuous story with Brave. The seventh studio album, originally from 1994, follows a girl taken off the Severn Bridge in a confused state, based on a radio appeal Steve Hogarth had heard years earlier and kept. The band recorded it at Marouatte castle in France and at Parr Street Studios in Liverpool with producer Dave Meegan; sounds taped in a nearby cave ended up as background ambience on the album. Musically it shifts between restrained passages and heavy eruptions, with The Hollow Man and Alone Again in the Lap of Luxury released as singles. The album reached number ten on the UK albums chart, and Prog Magazine placed Brave at number 29 in its Top 100 Prog Albums of All Time. This edition is a 2-LP set.
