Boots on the Ground brought Massive Attack and Tom Waits together for the first time: a protest song of just over seven minutes, originally released on 16 April 2026. It is the first new music from Massive Attack since the 2020 EP Eutopia and Waits' first original work since Bad as Me in 2011. Waits lays his rasp over the slow, dark production of the Bristol group, with backing vocals from his son Casey, and the lyric is plainly anti-war. The B-side is The Fly. Proceeds from this 12-inch go to the American Civil Liberties Union and the Immigrant Defense Project.
