La Danse Macabre originally dates from 1996 and is the third album by the Swedish doom/power metal band Memento Mori. The band was formed in 1992 by guitarist Mike Wead, then alongside Messiah Marcolin of Candlemass and Snowy Shaw. By the time of this album Marcolin had already left the band, and vocals were handled by Kristian Andrén of Tad Morose. The eight tracks are classically oriented and bring more power metal alongside the band's doom foundation.
