Neil Young captured Time Fades Away in 1973 during a turbulent American tour with The Stray Gators, shortly after the success of Harvest. The recordings are raw and unpolished, and the live album is regarded as the first part of his so-called 'ditch' period, in which he stepped away from his more accessible work. This reissue added 'The Last Trip to Tulsa' as a bonus.
