On Day Breaks Norah Jones went back to the acoustic piano and to the jazz she started out with. She recorded the album with saxophonist Wayne Shorter, drummer Brian Blade, and organist Dr. Lonnie Smith among others, setting her own songs such as Carry On and Flipside next to Neil Young's Don't Be Denied, Horace Silver's Peace, and Duke Ellington's African Flower. It first appeared in 2016 and was her sixth studio album.
