The Masterplan gathers the B-sides Oasis tucked away on singles between 1994 and 1997, and originally appeared in 1998. Noel Gallagher put the collection together himself because he felt songs such as Acquiesce, Half The World Away, Talk Tonight, and the title track were too good to be left on a B-side. It shows a different side of the band than the studio albums: more acoustic, sometimes looser in the recording, with Noel Gallagher himself on lead vocals for part of it.
