Icon is the fourth studio album by Paradise Lost and the record on which the Halifax band largely left the death-doom roots of its early releases behind. Nick Holmes sings in a rawer, more melodic voice than before, and Greg Mackintosh's lead guitar carries the songs with slow, mournful melodies over Aaron Aedy's heavy riffs. Opener 'Embers Fire' and 'True Belief' became fixtures of the live set. Simon Efemey produced the album, the last with drummer Matthew Archer. Decibel inducted Icon into its Hall of Fame in 2018 as an influential album in the development of gothic metal.

This edition is a 2-LP on red splatter vinyl, the National Album Day edition.
