Look Sharp! became Roxette's international breakthrough, although it got there by a detour. The Swedish duo's second studio album was originally released in 1988 and entered the chart at number 1 at home. An American exchange student took the album back to Minneapolis and gave it to a local radio station, after which 'The Look' climbed to number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 while Roxette still had no record deal in the US. 'Listen to Your Heart' also became an American number 1, and 'Dangerous' reached number 2. The album was recorded in Stockholm and London with Clarence Öfwerman and Adam Moseley producing, and all lyrics are by Per Gessle.
