Gates to Purgatory is the debut album by Running Wild, originally released on Noise Records in 1984. The Hamburg band was still playing raw German speed metal at that point, part of the same wave as Helloween and Grave Digger, with occult and anarchic lyrics rather than the pirate themes that became their subject from Under Jolly Roger onwards. The production is dry and direct, the tempo high, and "Victim of States Power", "Soldiers of Hell", and "Prisoner of Our Time" stayed in the live set for years afterwards. This edition is an LP on yellow vinyl.
