Tilt is a studio album by American-British singer and composer Scott Walker, released in 1995. It was his first album in eleven years, following Climate of Hunter from 1984. Walker, who rose to fame in the sixties with The Walker Brothers and his orchestral solo records, took a definitively avant-garde direction with Tilt: dark, abstract compositions with operatic vocals and experimental arrangements. The opening track 'Farmer in the City' refers to the Italian filmmaker Pier Paolo Pasolini. Tilt is regarded as the first part of a late trilogy that was continued with The Drift (2006) and Bish Bosch (2012).
